[March 5, 2023] Sunday Sermon Reflection Questions

Series: The Good News
"Redeemed by Faith in Christ"
Romans 5:1-11

  1. Paul reminds us that if we have faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then we are fully justified in the redeeming love of God.  We do not have to prove ourselves or earn any form of salvation as it is a free gift of grace.  Is this Gospel truth something that we know, cling to and live out in the joyful freedom of God's grace?  What impact and hope does this offer you in your day-to-day living, if at all (if not, why do you think that is)?
  2. Would you say that you are a "joyful" person because of who we are in Jesus Christ?  Do we endure all things in the hope that God has already overcome and that even in the midst of our suffering, He is renewing us in His image?  Why do we struggle with this?
  3. Being "justified" by faith in the saving work of Jesus is not an end in itself.  Those who truly believe as disciples of Christ have a growing evidence and proof in bearing the "fruit of the Spirit" (Galatians 5:22-23) and declaring the Good News to others (Matthew 28).  When we take a look at the reality of our faith lives, are we living in obedient response to the Gospel?  Why or why not?
