[December 11, 2022] Sunday Sermon Reflection Questions

Series: Advent - The Characters of Christmas
"A Humble Messiah for All People"
Luke 2:8-21

  1. When we consider the Gospel of Jesus, are we filled with gratitude and a degree of shock that God's grace is given for us or do we assume that it should be given and that we are worthy recipients (or maybe we are unmoved or apathetic)?  Why does this distinction and perspective matter when it comes to our faith?
  2. Not only for ourselves, but when we consider the Gospel, do we believe that God's love is for "all people" and is it evident in how we live to reflect and speak the Gospel to all without judgment or consideration about their worthiness?
  3. A big part of the shepherds' response to seeing the Gospel in the flesh is one of worship and praise.  How does the promise and coming of Jesus foster a life of worship (aka: giving God worth and glory) in all of our lives?  What does this look like for us in terms of our heart, actions and desires?
