"Good Intentions"
Joshua 24:14-24

  1. How much of our trusting obedience to Christ as Lord and Savior is grounded in actual submission and obedience rather than merely "knowing about Jesus" and having an intention to live as He calls us?  Why do we struggle with this?
  2. At a basic level, we understand that even "good" intentions without action are meaningless.  What are some areas of your life (i.e. relationships, lifestyle, Christian disciplines etc) that you might have good intentions in but struggle to actually obey and follow-through?  What is a faithful response in these circumstances?
  3. Joshua encourages God's people in verse 23 to put away our idols and to "incline" (turn ourselves away from sin toward God) our hearts to God.  What would this look like in your life and how can we partner with one another for accountability and encouragement?
