[April 24, 2022] EPC Sunday Announcements

Welcome Newcomers to EPC!
If you are new to EPC, welcome and God’s peace to you!  We are so glad that you were able to find and join us.  We hope that the worship is both encouraging and convicting to you in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We would love to connect with you.  To do this, please go to our website, epcministry.org, and click on the “Newcomer” button on the upper right corner of our homepage.  You’ll find some introductory information there along with a form towards the bottom to share some contact information.  If you fill that out, we would love to send you a welcoming email and to encourage you.  We look forward to getting to know you and walking after God’s joy in the Gospel together.

EPC Congregational Meeting
We will hold an EPC EM Congregational Meeting on Sunday, May 1 at 11:30 AM.  We will be sharing updates on upcoming EPC EM events, ministry updates and new opportunities to serve.  If you are a member of EPC EM, we strongly encourage you to attend the meeting as a part of our responsibilities as faithful members of EPC.

EPC Family Worship
On Sunday, May 8, all of EPC will be gathering together for "Family Worship" for the second (10 AM) and third (12 PM) services in the KM Main Sanctuary.  All services will be lead in English and Korean.  We look forward to remembering that we are part of a larger church body and community.

Seeking Volunteers to Serve the "Children's Disability Ministry" (CDM) of EPC
Children’s Disability Ministry is asking for EPC’s KM, EM and youth members to lend a hand to help bring families with disabilities into our church. A lot of these families refrain from trying, and some are even at times shunned by church communities.

One father wrote about his own experience in the Washington Post recently: “If we were going to attend this church, my son would be unable to join the other kids in children’s church. My spouse or I would have to sit apart from the rest of the congregation in a “family room” with him. As I feared, our search for a community of faith would have to start again. The next week, we just stayed home. We were tired, discouraged and longing for community. A place of rest and refreshment always seemed out of reach for our family’s special needs. At one point, we didn’t attend church for a year. What was the point if we were going to be quarantined in a “family room” to care for our boys — we now have two sons who are nonverbal and on the autism spectrum — with little to no interaction with anyone else? It was easier to look after them at home.”

The Children’s Disability Ministry at EPC is our small step to help encourage families through buddy programs where children with disabilities can worship with buddies while their parents can worship with their peers.  This is not a ministry of professionals.  Any member of EPC, encouraged by God’s grace, can serve.   And by God’s grace, more families with disabilities are getting interested in “trying out" a Sunday upon hearing about this ministry.  And this is one ministry that  cannot function without actual people. Would you prayerfully consider serving through this program?  There is an interest form in the lobby, so you can use the form to inquire for more information on how it’s done and more ways to serve.  You can also reach out to Pastor Ken through email at: kyunguisuh@kepc.org.

EPC Face Mask and Digital Check-In Policy
Due to improving COVID conditions and guidance from Santa Clara County:
Masks will not be required but will still be highly recommended.
Digital Check-ins will no longer be required.
Please continue to be thoughtful and careful in caring for ourselves and one another.

Supporting those suffering in the Crisis in Ukraine
EPC is preparing to send financial support through "Global Giving" to aid and assist those who are suffering and have experienced loss due to the crisis in Ukraine.  In the Gospel, God has called us to not only be aware of suffering and brokenness, but to intercede in faithful prayer and to practically be generous as we are able in order to be a presence of love and mercy.
We encourage you to join us in prayer and awareness of the suffering in the midst of war in Ukraine and if you are able, to give of your resources to help ease the pain and hurt in Ukraine. We have provided a guide on the home page of our website to help us with practical ways to pray, educate and send practical support through agencies and organizations that have a track-record of bringing help to those in need around the world with transparent financial policies.
We pray for God to reveal His peace and sovereignty over all creation, especially to those suffering and in need all over the world.  And we pray that we would be faithful in not only praying, but in seeking to obediently be the hands and feet of the Gospel to others.

Offering & Tithing Reminder
If you are mailing in checks as your offering and tithe to God's church, please be sure to write in the "Memo" section of the check, "EPC EM", so that we can be sure to receive your support and to correctly update your personal tax information.
If you are giving online, please remember to write your name in the "Comment" section on PayPal.
Thank you for obeying and supporting the body of Christ with your resources.

EPC Church Lunch & Refreshments
EPC KM will be serving lunch in the cafeteria and the EM Welcoming Team will serve coffee and refreshments.  Enjoy!

EPC Monthly Prayer Meeting
There will not be a separate Monthly Prayer Meeting for April as we are gathering for worship on "Good Friday".  More details to come!

EPC In-Person & Livestream Sunday Worship
If you are joining us via "live-stream" and experience any issues, please email us at "emoffice@epcsj.org" to let us know as we grow in this new process. The "live-stream" link on our website will be updated every Sunday morning.

If you are with us in-person today and would like to give or tithe here at church, there is an offering box near between the Sanctuary and the EM Lobby where you can drop off your offering envelopes.  Otherwise, you can continue to give God your offerings online on our website under “Give”.

EPC EM App
The EPC App is live on our website for both iOS and Android.  Please go and download it for easy access to notifications for church events and announcements, sermons and content, ways to give, and more.  For those joining us “in-person” for Sunday Worship, you can now also register your attendance in the EPC EM App!  A big thank you to our “Media Team” who worked so hard to make this happen!

EPC Sunday Sermon Reflection Questions
We will be posting the "Sermon Reflection Questions" on the website under "Announcements" to better give access to the various life groups that meet.

EPC Pastoral Care and Prayer Support
If you are in need of pastoral care or would like to request prayer support from the pastors of EPC, please don’t hesitate to go to our website (epcministry.org) and click on “Pastoral Care and Prayer Requests'' under the “Connect” button.  You can keep it confidential if you wish to do so but we would love to serve you by walking with you in fellowship and prayer.
